Proposed performance: Whispers of Longing

Zierle & Carter critically examine different modes of communication and what it means to be human, addressing notions of belonging, dynamics within relationships, and the transformation of limitations. Their work sites an embodied investigation into human interactions and encounters, acting as an invitation to venture into the spaces in-between the external and internal, permanent and transient, spoken and unheard. Whispers of Longing explores the unbound space between knowledge, love and longing using ritualised actions revealing the transformation of loss, a journey of crumbled matter, ruthless truths muttered between teeth, black spit and the absurd.

Elizabeth Lim

Born in 1992 in Singapore, Elizabeth Lim has grown up being exposed to the eclectic society of Singapore. Elizabeth has also been traveling since the age of 1, which may contribute to her strong interests in people, cultures, and the interactions involved.

Elizabeth enjoys creating works that are simple, straightforward, and depict an honest reflection of the Artist and her ideas. She also enjoys traveling, several different sports, humor and honesty in Art, and being a Singaporean flâneur, which is also reflected in her works.

Elizabeth is currently exploring the boundaries in human relationships, and developing an experiment that looks into the social structure of authenticity in her current project.

But more importantly, she is investigating the endless potential and possibilities Art and its mediums have to offer her. As she further develops herself, as a human being first, then as an Artist, to uncover what she has to offer Art.

Proposed performance: Trade Secret

I am exploring the idea of facades and boundaries, as well as the circumstances in which a person decides to use his/her power or not.

It is human nature that one has the power of discernment between what is good or bad, and right or wrong. I am choosing to explore this through the exchange of text with the audience, and leaving it up to them what I am to wear as a memory for the next few weeks.
